Could this be installed without a lift?

I have some guys at work who are very handy but wasn't sure if installing this without a lift would even be possible. I want one of these so on our cross country camping trips I can go further without filling up with diesel.

Lift is only listed as recommended option tool, I'm sure getting it up on jackstands would be fine.

I did a 65 gallon S&S on a 2002 Sierra 2500HD short bed crew cab. It was a challenge because the fit is really, really snug. I removed the bed (highly recommended) and got it slid underneath using jack stands and jacks. You only need 2 feet or so vertical clearance. Lift would be nice, but not critical.

It's nice to have a range approaching 1000 miles, and the option to not fill up as often. Not all gas stations are RV friendly. Also to still have over a half tank when the 25 gallon factory would have been dry 100 miles ago

I would consider making sure you have a large filler inlet, so you can use the semi truck pumps.

And be ready for sticker shock, the first time you fill up. Don't be surprised if the pump shuts off because many are limited to total $$$ sale. You'll have to hang up the nozzle and run the card again

While I am sure a lift would be helpful - I think the BIGGEST thing to make it easy would be taking the bed off. I had the fuel tank out of my project truck and did a bunch of stuff to the fuel system with the bed off. It would have been a lot harder with the bed on.
