Looking around to replace our 12 year old jeep…no idea what haggling is available nowadays after Covid messed up everything. Any websites out there that you trust to provide a general idea of what you should be targeting on a deal?

I've had a wide array of experiences so far with how open they appear to be on haggling and want to make sure I overpay as little as possible.

I also know it would depend on the car. Some are hard to find so why would they do a deal? Others are sitting longer so you'd think they'd be more open.

We frankly haven't narrowed it down too much. Figured there'd be a site or something where I can look at general trends on each car for deals being made. I think Edmund's used to have something like that.

Probably either minivan or mid size suv.

There are several YouTube channels that I trust for solid information, and one in particular helped to determine my last purchase.

I feel like through autotrader I can find better deals than cargurus. But cargurus is second imo.

Quite a few dealers went to the "no haggle" price model. I'm sure there's exceptions but often the price is what is especially without buying in volume or frequency.

AutoTrader or Car Gurus for used. I'm a fan of lightly used.

Cars.com is another site that can be decent (or was) to look at general pricing/reviews for a given model etc. Doug DeMuro's site 'cars and bids' is a little different but can be entertaining at least.

I watched an interview on youtube not too long ago about this guy who owns a couple of dealerships. I'm having a hard time remembering his name but I think it starts with a K. Anyways, in that video he sounded like a really trustworthy guy especially during the part where he was talking about in order to start his dealership, he lied to Ford about how much money he had. I had heard on this forum that he's sleazy and cons people but after watching that video, how can you not love him?
You should try buying a car from one of his dealerships. They have this thing called Apex which is pretty cool too.

Rhymes with "beating" for a reason.
