I'm looking to buy a 2024 F-150 STX in the near future. I assume the dealership will try to sell me a spray in Berliner and Tint as add-ons. Based on quality and price am I better off getting these from the dealer at time of purchase or taking the truck to a tint shop and line-x later?

There's no "OEM" tint or bedliner. The dealerships usually bring in someone and mark it up. So quality will be based on who they use vs. who you choose (it may very well be the same person). Price will obviously be better by doing it yourself.

There is OEM bed liner. My last 2 F150s had it. Both held up well. I did consider dropping it on my 2021, not due to the product, but it was one of the constraints in trucks shipping.

You can finance dealer ad ons. Whether you should or not is a different question.

Also, dealer stuff is usually covered under the truck warranty. I've looked at super duties with lifts, tires, bull bars, all installed by the dealer and all covered under the warranty.

For what it's worth, Ford doesn't spray in your bedliner on the production line. It is a Ford Product, but it's done aftermarket at their shop. For bedliners, I don't see any benefit other than reduced cost. Bedliner is bedliner and many other 'Ford" parts are rebranded aftermarket anyway.

They'll likely subcontract to the same companies you can do direct business with.

My 2016 f-150 had a spray in before I test drove it. They didn't even include it as a line item. And it has held up perfectly. Find one that already has it and negotiate from there.

Correct. They're done by 3rd party before they leave the plant.
