We are tired of all the trouble we've had with our Ford Expedition (transmission, cam phaser, etc etc) and are wanting to move in a different direction. What is the consensus on the Nissan Pathfinder? Do they have a good reliability reputation? The inside looks nice online. Any feedback is appreciated.

It's smaller for sure. If you like the room of the Expedition the Pathfinder may not be big enough. However, the Rock Creek Pathfinder is super cool. Buddy of mine has one and I dig it for sure.

We have a 22 model with the redesign and updated transmission. I chose the midgrade model without cooling seats or sunroof. It has almost all the features I need in the mid model.

So far I am really happy with it. We also have a highlander and for me at 5 foot 3 it is more comfy to drive. The interior is great. I replaced the floor mats with rubber mats.

The third row is completely closed off which would be a problem if you have small children. For quick trips with extra people it is fine and my kids actually like being in the "cave" on road trips. We have fit 5 adults in the front 2 Rows comfortably and put the teens in the 3rd row.

Third row down, it is a Ton of cargo space and we have fit hockey gear, goalie equipment, moved, etc with no problem. 8 foot planks fit if you put them across the center console.

Personally I like the info screen better than some.others and it is pretty intuitive.

Anyway. Knock on wood no mechanical issues so far and happy with how it has held up. Nissan is not the most luxurious brand out there but it has just what we need to cart around town.

Oh, the auto start/stop off button is by the shifter and the feature won't engage if the a/c is on which for us is 9 months out of the year. Much better than the highlander where you have to feather the brake pedal at every stop light til you hit the button.on the dash.

They look good and Nissan smartly moved away from the CVT on the redesign. That's about all I have.

I also wanted to mention that the lane departure warning and other such alerts are not rage inducing. In several rental cars and the highlander, the beeps were super strident. Nissan emits a flat "boop" which helps keep you aware in traffic but I don't seek to disable the feature like I have in Toyotas and other cars.
