2012 Honda Odyssey timing belt?

Wife's Odyssey, bought new in '12. Has just 59k miles on it, dealer said belt should be replaced at at 8year mark regardless of mileage. Read on an Honda board hat seems to concur, just wanted to check with fellow texags auto forum before getting it done.

Yes, time is also a factor. 8 to 10 years.

You should also change the water pump at this time

I'd look for an independent, trustworthy mechanic over the dealer.

*it's important because if the belt breaks, your engine is toast.

Yea definitely get it done asap. You're on borrowed time with that original belt based on its age.
