Just bought a new F-150 and of course they have you install the FordPass. After I got home and started playing around with it, decided I didn't necessarily like it being so plugged in to my every move. Is just uninstalling the app enough? Or is there something more I need to do to make sure it's not tracking all my data and sending it somewhere?

I had my other truck for 16 years, so not at all used to all this new technology they have.

Your truck has a modem. It's how you get the OTA updates. Ford can also diagnose issues with your truck remotely.

So regardless, they're tracking me. So it's no more harm to have the FordPass app on my phone anyway?

Good call making Ford buy the data from Apple.

You're able to opt out. Having them monitor vehicle health may be beneficial. But having them track your every move and report to an insurance company aggregator…well, not so much.

On my VW, I opted out of them tracking my driving habits. The fact that I drive like a hooligan and do auto cross on the weekends is nobody's business.

And that disables it from sending any info from my vehicle to the Ford Pass app? I would assume that means the remote start feature on ford pass would also no longer work?
