I've always had a dual axle trailer so I haven't had to worry about a jack (drive up on a little ramp so the other tire lifts off the ground). What's a good jack for a single axle boat trailer (I got one recently)? Something that would be super simple and reliable in a pinch on the side of the road? Appreciate your help!

I just use the one for my truck.

I keep a small floor jack in my truck toolbox. Works great for the boat or truck. Its saved me twice. I hate the jack that comes with the truck.

Small bottle jacks. All day every day.

Harbor freight bottle jack will be cheapest option and easy to store. But *best* option as I describe it would be an aluminum floor jack. Weight won't be a concern and they are easy and fast to use.

I remember seeing these things in the JC Whitney catalog when I was a kid. I didn't know you could still get them att Academy. Do they actually work?

Just remember floor jacks are awesome on solid, smooth surfaces and worthless on soft or rough surfaces.

Depends on the surface you put them on. Tried once with a small ski boat and it just slit kn the pavement

As long as the ground is hard enough. (skip to 1:30)
