I've been looking to replace my 10 year old Toyota Tundra. I really don't like the new Tundra very much but I am definitely a Toyota fan. Also considering the Titan.

I came across this truck and think it fits my needs well. I really like the 6 1/2 foot bed. I drive a lot for work but I've been plenty happy driving my plain Jayne truck last several years so even this basic model will be an upgrade as far as comfort.

Anyway, just wanna see what y'all think of the deal and if there's anything to look out for if I go test drive this truck

Maybe get another opinion as I haven't been in the market in a 2-3 years, but seems like a decent deal to me these days. I would definitely check the car fax.

Sounds high for an XL. I thought you could get that truck in a new 23 for the low 50s. With a 3 year warranty.

All about the factory warranty imo. I put around 35k per year on a truck so recently bought a 4 yr/ 125 k Ford extended premium care warranty for 2,700 when I purchased a new truck.

ETA that I found one with Auto start-stop delete which was my number one criteria. I don't really trust the 3.5L with turbos or the 10 speed but so far it drives great and is fun to drive. Will definitely get rid of it before the ford extended warranty expires.

I personally would stay away from the 10-Speed tran-e until they figure out how to make them work as they should.

and that does seem high for an XL.

Thanks for the feedback. I wonder if it may be a little on the high side because it is the 6 1/2 foot bed. I know they are harder to find and probably get a little premium, but I haven't really been studying the market long enough to know.

They don't necessarily command a premium, but you're currently searching during the absolute worst time of year for vehicles. I recommend getting at minimum 3.55 gearing and the 36 gallon tank

Especially if you plan on towing. Boost tows well but it's thirsty under load. 36 gallon tank for the win towing and just everyday driving.

Well, I went to look at it this afternoon, and the dealership could not locate the vehicle so I didn't even get to see it lol. They were all really nice and seemed kind of embarrassed. They definitely legitimately could not find it and as soon as they realize that, they apologized and sent me on my way and said they would call me when they find it.

The guy did mention it was tax refund season. I didn't think about that. Maybe it's for the best they couldn't find it and I should wait.

This Titan looks good but I'm leary of the dealership being out of GA. Price looks a little low compared to others, too, so that has me wondering if that's a sign to stay away. They say they ship for free and I could have it inspected wherever I choose.

I was just in the same boat and even looked at that same Ford online. Ultimately I ended up with a low mileage '22 Titan XD. 6.5 ft bed non negotiable for me. I'm really happy with the Titan so far!

If you can stomach Red, there was a nice one at Grubbs infiniti in San Antonio.

That checks every box except the color. Dang. Really prefer back (or maybe white or blue).

Just turned 175k in my Tundra last night. Still drives like new. Guess I'll hold off and keep looking.

I think you should look at a higher trim line than XL. You drove the last one for 10 plus years and will probably drive this next one for a long time. Get something nicer. You deserve it. Not saying you need to go Platinum, but maybe step up to Lariat or at least XLT. The small difference in price is negligible when you spread it out over a decade.

Titan's also have 5 year/100k bumper to bumper warranty. if you go titan buy new. great trucks.

You can get a new 23 for $40,000 right now.

Probably not four-wheel-drive with a 6 1/2 foot bed, but maybe you are right and I should look at new

How many miles on your 10 year-old Tundra?

Dude.

I've got a 2000 with 277k

Keep going. It's just getting broken in.

I definitely could. I have thought about keeping it and getting something smaller like a Tacoma or even a sedan to run around in. I drive a ton for work and haul a lot of equipment so the truck is nice for that.

I guess I let myself get the itch, though, once I started looking.
