Does anybody have a good recommendation on these?

Should I be concerned on affects to the computers or other things using one?

Did find this one:

I have one of those on my 2020 Silverado. Best money I've ever spent that I shouldn't have had to spend. No problems and had it for at least two years now. The nightmare is over!

Awesome, do you have that exact one from that site? Just wanting to check any references before plugging into my vehicle!

I don't know how you guys put up with that stuff. Doesn't the A/C turn warm really fast when that happens? I drove a POS long enough that any form of engine shutdown at a light is low key panic inducing!

It's the same brand, looks just like that. Not sure if there's a different part number for the tahoe.

Took about 20 minutes to install. Removing the console is the hardest part.

Just bought a new 2023 F150 and I spent hours online looking at the window stickers to find one with the Auto Start Stop Removal listed on the sticker. I've never had a vehicle with that and it would have driven me crazy until I had it removed.
ETA it looks like dealerships would select this option on EVERY truck they order if possible. I don't know a single person that wants this auto start stop crap on their vehicle. I was told it only became an option on the 23 and 24 fords due to chip shortages.

No. It still keeps the vehicle cool, and the engine will fire back on if needed for that reason. I've noticed my vehicle would start back up, when I'd turn the temp down.

That said, mine stopped working. It's the only thing that's broke on my vehicle. Fine by me.

It's been an option since before 2023. I don't know how long, but do know it was an option on 21s and 22s.

As for the OP. I'm not as familiar with Chevy, but I do know Ford's version of this works by disabling the BMS. Generally not going to cause an issue. But BMS is there for a reason, so you may be slightly more likely to be stranded somewhere because your battery is going out and you were never notified.

we have that brand for our ford. its a no brainer.

no one wants the auto stop feature. but its a "feature" of meeting the stupid MPG requirements

How does that work though? I'm used to A/C getting pretty warm and humid pretty fast when the compressor is no longer running. Like within seconds.

I have a Yukon, so same basic design, and when it's a really hot day and the A/C is pumping full blast, the car won't shut off at the light, or if it does it will kick back on pretty quickly to keep up. When the outside temps are more reasonable and A/C is on low, or more room temp type temperatures on the dial, mine will sometimes stay off for the entire duration of a light stop. Sometimes not though. I hate it, more on principle than anything, but I don't know if I hate it enough to override it and potentially jeopardize other things. Would rather it just be a no go from the factory. I do have a button that will shut it off for the duration the engine is on. But once you shut it off and come back it's back to doing it again unless you push the button.

I think I'll be getting this one: Chevy-Buick-Cadillac-GMC Products - Smart Stop Start
Video looks like a very simple install. Looks like about $140

I have this brand on 2024 GMC. Other than having to take the dash apart to install which wasn't too bad. Works great so far.

Slight derail, does anyone use a pedal monster or something similar to assist with bad throttle response?

In looking in to getting a Lew tune now that my warranty is up. I'm tired of the soft GM tuning and a custom tune is the best thing short of a dyno tune. Also disables DFM which is supposed to be half of the problem that causes lifter failure.

I had a pedal commander on my JK for a few years. It eventually got glitchy so I removed it. Worked well before that. My aftermarket head unit will show throttle position. It never goes above 70%. Pisses me off to no end.

It is so infuriating having to find work arounds for this horrible tech/feature.

Odd because on my wife's 2023 expedition it was one of the options removed due to not having the chip.

To clarify, I'm not saying it wasn't an option in 2023. Yes, it was. I was just replying to the poster who stated it was a new option/started in 2023. That's not correct, you could delete the autostart before that.

It was more common in 23 (really in 22) because of chip issues. It was also probably more common just because more people were building trucks vs going and getting one of the hundreds of trucks on the lot. And when you build it and go line by line to see what you can add/delete, you see more things.

Your battery may be reaching the end of its life. Just a heads up before it leaves you stranded somewhere.

Agree with this, replace the battery spon. I had a company car that I got when it was already about 2 years old. I got all happy thinking it didn't have auto start/stop.... About 4 months later the car died overnight at a hotel.

When I got it back after replacing the battery, the auto start/stop worked again.
