Turbo reporting 3.5 bar and a check engine light at idle. Am I screwed? 128,500 on the ticker . Some light towing but no mods and no hot rodding. No noticeable loss of power and it still spools.

No. Not in my experience w a 6.0 turbo diesel. My blown turbo had zero power. Could rev like crazy and barely go 25mph. Now. I was towing an airboat at the time.

Could it be turbo actuator? That's what I'd check

3.5 bar is a little over 50psi. If your turbo is making that much boost, it is definitely not blown. As stated above I would look into wastegate. The electronic ones are a typical fail point. Do you know what code is causing your CEL to come on?

I reread the OP. Surely you aren't seeing 3.5 bar at idle.

We had one of the feed lines from the turbo come loose once. Check that. Easy to spot, it is a big ass hose hanging open.

Thank you for the replies. Didn't get a chance to get under the hood today but will check tomorrow.

Sunday edit: can't find anything visibly loose or unplugged. Definitely thinking it could be wastegate related.
