My 2023 F150 has the cup holder in the front that have 4 spring loaded plastic fingers. They grip so tight this morning one of the fingers punctured a styrofoam to go cup I had.

It's a minor thing. Love the truck overall. Anyone have a similar experience and have an easy solution?

Sometimes the springs behind those chincy plastic fingers get off so that they won't move freely. I've messed with them enough in my Edge that the usual offending fingers are always loose now.

Just a crappy design. Deal with it.

Mine are the same way. Seems like they used industrial springs compared to the ones before

Yeah I don't put styrofoam in those holders. Only
Plastic or metal. Styrofoam goes up on the top holders or the doors.

My kids have broken enough styrofoam in those spring loaded slots for me to lose my mind.

My wife's GX has the spring fingers in two cupholders, but I found a 3D printed insert that drops into the cup holders and is sized for Yeti/etc tumblers.

There is actually an o-ring around all the "fingers" that controls the tension applied. If you remove that portion, you may be able to change it to a more plyable o-ring of similar size. Or use a slightly larger o-ring.

And while it's out, you can upgrade to the lighted cup holders. Not sure if the part still exists or if Ford removed ability to order it. All the parts required are listed in the f150gen14 forums.

People complained about their 256 oz stainless yeti cups spilling their PSL when they cornered on their 40" venom power terra hunters on 24" Fuel rebel wheels, so Ford put in stronger cup holders that would crush anything less than a Buccees disposable coffee cup.

My petty complaint about the '23 PB is the damn reversing chime. They should have made it sound like a backhoe or something manlier.

If we are turning this into a petty complaint, mine is the door handle. They moved where they had the auto unlock from where your thumb was to the other side. Just a really weird design.
