I was thinking about this on the drive in after seeing a car that is undoubtedly a 90s car...Plymouth Prowler. So, that got me thinking about what cars do you see and know it couldn't have existed in any other decade than when it existed? Even if they may have existed some the decade prior or after.

I'm class of '04 and the 90s is where I grew up, so those are the cars I tend to think about:
- Dodge Stealth/Mitsubishi 3000GT
- Toyota Supra
- Ford Probe
- Honda Prelude
- WS6 Pontiac Trans Am
- Nissan 300ZX
- Mitsubishi Eclipse
- Acura NSX
- Mazda RX-7

The Grand Prix. Forgot about that car. My mom had a '93 coupe for about a year before they got rid of it for a sedan and the craptastic Mazda 929 lemon she got. I loved that Grand Prix. Green, tan interior and the honeycomb tail lights.

Add Acura Integra and Toyota Celica to your list. My kids' minds are blown when we come across one of those in the wild, they might as well be Ferraris or Lambos as far as they are concerned.

I know this isn't quite your question, but the car that makes me the most nostalgic from that specific time period is actually a red or yellow Chevy Cavalier/Pontiac Sunfire. Every 16 year old girl seemed to have one or the other of those.

This is pretty good. My default when I think of 90s cars are Japanese sports cars.

Boy, outside of trucks, the American auto companies really put out some garbage in the 90's and 2000's

It's really funny to think about how I really wanted like a 2000 Camaro SS and now when I see them they just look like a door stop on wheels. And you just know the sea of plastic on the inside must be so worn out.

The 1970's could be represented by the Gremlin, the Pacer, and the Pinto and then your choice of Buick/Olds/Lincoln/Caddy land barge.

I had a red '90 SE (coupe with bucket seats in the back). That car was sweet. Owned it if for 7 years, never had problem with it and only sold it because kid #1 was on the way.

I don't like many American cars from the 90's, but I do love the big '93-96 Fleetwoods. Unfortunately, hoodrats and lowriders got to most of them.

Same class as you and fish and sophomore years at A&M had EVERYONE driving the stock mustangs and camero cars. Mid 90's vintage.

That and Chevy trucks. I don't remember seeing a lot of ford trucks then.

You have to give the Trans Am and the screaming chicken some love. Smokey and the Bandit was the pentacle of 70s car culture.

That late 80's/early 90's wood panel minivan screams nostalgia… not necessarily in a good way.

I've grown to like the fox bodies a lot more than I did then, but these were easily some of the weakest years of sales for the mustang throughout its history.

Hard to argue with the mustang's dominance in the 60's, though.

There's nothing more 70s than sports cars with 150hp V8s.
