As engines start to get older do folks on this forums recommend using products like Seafoam White Can or Seafoam Clear Bottle (or any other cleaners) to help with cleaning injectors? If so, how often do you apply it?

I've used ATS fuel and oil treatment with really good results. https://www.atscarbonclean.com/how-to-use-ats-engine-oil-and-fuel-pour-in-treatments/

Do you use it every 25k miles like the bottle recommends?

I use it once or twice a year. Which is 25-30k intervals.

Plus 1... I use it around 20k.. had my last tundra to 300k with no engine issues at all.

I have had good luck with Berryman b12.

My silverado with >200k miles would start to idle high and one can would clear it up for 6 months.

Cheapest place to buy is Amazon.

Save your money on the snake oil, and fill only wiith a Top Tier fuel. The additives will take care of the fuel system and those injectors.

Agree. Most gas has plenty of detergent in it. Unless you're getting a too lean code diagnosed as an injector, I wouldn't worry about additional additives.

You realize Top Tier fuels are adding these same additives into the fuel right? So are they snake oil or not?

Also retailers pay to use the top Tier designation.

It's not snake oil, but additional detergent is not needed since it's already in the fuel.

It made an immediate difference in my silverado.

The RPMs would jump around trying to idle and settle higher than normal and after one can of Berryman B12 it would disappear for usually about a year.

It definitely was doing something that normal gas did not.

I add one to the first tank after each oil change. Might be overkill, but doesn't hurt.

I don't buy the whole "just buy top tier gas." At some point, you'll want some kind of injector cleaner. Whether you do it every 3k, oil change, 50K or 100K is up to you. But you need to do it at some point.

Whether Redline is as good as BG44 (I've had good success with the latter) is debatable, but given the lower price of RL, it is at least within the margin of error. And more available -- you can easily find it at O'Reillys.

Granted.

It's only snake oil if seperately you ourchase it in a bottle and pour it into the tank.
