Dealership Stickers

Dealership in the local area routinely puts THREE id items on their vehicles. I cant imagine driving off the lot with anything other than a license plate holder, but letting the dealership use your car for a moving billboard is insane. I know most people are oblivious but surely people realize they have these giant stickers on their car, right?

That one doesn't look as bad because the little spoiler creates a shadow, but I saw one this morning that looked infinitely worse because that .com sticker sticks out like a sore thumb

I never take delivery until all this crap is removed - literally just bought a car from VW Cypress and all they did was the plate frame so that's good

it was probably a loaner at one point and they didn't take the sticker off to sell it used.

but yeah most people just don't care. it boggles my mind that people even keep the license plate holders. unless you are paying me, all the dealer identifying crap is coming off on the lot or first thing when i get home.

ETA:
kinsel toyota now appears to be doggett toyota and i can't imagine they are putting new stickers for a defunct dealer name on vehicles.

I see several per day with the kinselxxxxx.com sticker so I dont think it is a loaner thing.

fair enough. i'll say i haven't seen any like that in DFW. the emblems and plate covers are out of control here though.

my wife is the type that doesn't care. i'm like you paid them for the vehicle. if you are going to advertise, then you should get a cut.

Same. I always ask to have the badging removed. No one has ever even questioned the request.

David McDavid puts these little chrome decals on their cars. Problem is that it is a State of Texas shape and they completely effed up the dimensions of the state. Looks like my 7 year old drew a map of Texas.

I've noticed that for years. Also if you look at all the random Texas inspection places it seems like half of them have completely messed up Texas outlines as well.

I have make-ready remove all dealer badging from the vehicle in every truck I've bought. Paint fade and that crap they out on the paint will fade differently. So if you ever remove the sticker there will be a shadow behind it. Remove them immediately.

I too have never taken possession of a vehicle with anything other than a license plate frame. Hell, I took all the Ford stickers off of my truck as well. Idk why they mess up perfectly good lines with ugly ass 4x4, stickers, fx4 stickers etc.

Its actually a pretty good representation in a small footprint.

In 2010, I purchased a Nissan Frontier from Streater Smith in Conroe. They had to do a dealer swap with the Beaumont dealer. I had asked that the badging be removed. Something must have gotten lost in translation because the make ready crew left the Beaumont stickers on and added the Conroe stickers. So on my trip back to Bryan, I was repping two Nissan dealers with my new truck.

Take em off before I leave the lot. I can throw the plate frame away when I get home. Same sentiment!

I kinda like the homemade inspection signs/paintings.

I kind of like the Cavender script one, lol

I am the type that doesn't really care so long as it's not over the top. License plate surround, I don't care but when I get my plates, I'm just not going to put your surround back on. A small simple sticker on the back I'll leave. A huge one on the window like that would be a no go. I was surprised when I was in Canada for a goose hunt a few years back, it was like half the trucks had window stickers like that on the front and back. Didn't take long for the trend to come down to the states it seems.

And Kinsel and the family are the worst. We used to lease hunting property from them. They own businesses all over south texas in all kinds of industries and they plaster their name everywhere.

Truckville is another repeat offender with a massive ugly as sin sticker. Here they put it in a funky position

Wiesner in Conroe used to use a dealer name emblem that was drilled into the tailgate of the pickup with two screws.

King Chevrolet in DOWNTOWN Tyler!

I moved away a while ago so maybe they've stopped. I could never understand how buyers tolerated having those red letters across their rear bumper. I was told that prior to the 90's it would be welded onto rear truck bumpers.

Good lord! I grew up in DFW, so saw these on vehicles all the time, and never thought much of it. I guess it's just getting conditioned to seeing it that you don't look that closely. Well I have lived in Houston now for 20 years, and we rarely see vehicles from DMcD down here, but alas I saw one today, and it is even worse in person that's the pic on this thread makes it look. How could they even allow that. Just have the name spill over the sides of the state rather than change the shape of the state.

If you're talking about bumpers with the dealer's name and city stamped into it, that's because rear bumpers weren't standard equipment on trucks for a long time. On my F-100 the optional one from Ford is chrome and not exactly sturdy looking. The one the truck has on it is the one the dealer in the metropolis of Atlanta, TX put on. It makes an ok step, is made from thick steel, and can take a trailer ball. More useful and probably costs less than the optional one would have way back when.

Agreed. But that doesn't mean that it has to be a billboard for the dealership.

But I was more talking about modern trucks and SUVs that come from the factory with bumpers installed to which King would add their large red vinyl stick on letters.
