Wife is in the market for a new vehicle and we have test drove three this past weekend, Telluride, Explorer, and Ascent. I think we are leaning towards the Telluride but want to see if anyone else has others that we should consider. She wants to test drive a highlander too but the dealership we went to didn't have any in stock.

CX9 has captains chairs as an option in the 2nd row and a third row. Not sure about the new CX90 but it probably does also. We've been very happy with our '22 CX9

Following as we have also looked at the Telluride and Grand Highlander.

In that size go for the new 2023 Grand Highlander or Lexus TX(early 2024).

Otherwise go with a Sequoia, Expedition Timberline or Yukon AT4.

We have a Highlander and love it, with Captain chairs and a third seat. The third seat is really tight for an adult, but is certainly fine for short drives.

Palisade?

If like Telluride I would definitely check out the Palisade.

Basically the same but Palisade has a little nicer look inside and Telluride has a bit more outdoorsy/rugged look.

Both are good value

I have a palisade and there are a few things that annoy me (no sunglass holder, no folding morris, no wireless CarPlay), but overall I like the car a lot.

They redesigned the interior of the Volkswagen Atlas for 2024 and it is very, very nice. The 4motion AWD system is the best in the business, and the comfort and driving experience is hard to beat. I'd at least look at one before buying something.

I'd give the nod to the Ascent's SAWD over the 4motion, but I'm just being pedantic.

My sister has an Ascent, and it's a great car. Everyone I know who has an Atlas loves it.

Both of those have turbocharged 4-cylinders, but they make plenty of power to go to the grocery store.

Currently looking at Nissan Armada myself. Seem to be a bit under the radar and forgotten. They look the best they've ever looked too. Last chance for a V8.

I just picked up a 23 Palisade and echo this sentiment. It's great value for the money and I liked it way better than the alternatives you listed when I drove them. The nicest trim level was a little over $50K with all the bells and whistles, in a package with captains chairs for the kids and a 3rd row that is usable for short to medium hauls.

Bought a 23 pilot touring earlier this year. Ask your questions if you got any.

The removable second row center section makes it technically captain chairs on second row but there aren't any arm rests if you remove the seat completely . It does fold down so I guess there's your arm rest. The storage behind the third row for the removable section is pretty deep. We managed to put a large, medium and small suit case all behind the 3rd row.

The pilot has more of a utilitarian interior feel which is more suited for my style. Telluride felt too fancy for my tastes.

Overall happy with our selection but we'd have been happy with a Korean twin or a grand highlander(if you can track one down and stomach the mark ups).

My wife drives a'19 Pilot touring and it's proven to be a great vehicle. The '23 is something I'd be willing to daily. Honda did a great job with the redesign.
