My Bronco order has finally been built and shipped, and should be arriving at dealer by end of the week. I am still on the fence about selling the Jeep, but realistically we can't just don't need to have 4 vehicles here.

I am sure there will come a time when I regret selling the Jeep as I have absolutely babied it and it really is just a nice weather convertible for us. I had grand visions of running this around Roush Offroad Park each year, but it just never happened with all of the kids activities. Is this something I should consider going the BAT route with, or just post it up locally and take our time? I don't have to sell to purchase the Bronco, so I can be selective. But, realistically I figure it is better to sell with nice weather still around for the next 3 months or so.

Here is a long breakdown and some pics. Open to suggestions on sales platform, or offers if someone wants to buy a vehicle located 30 minutes from Philly. I will take a lot of detail shots including undercarriage and engine bay as I prepare for listing.

Easy, keep them both for 6 months, then sell the Bronco when you realize you can't part with the LJ.

It's been 4 years since I sold my TJUR and although I love my JLUR, I still drool when I see an LJ.

Should have kept them both.

Otherwise hang a big number on it and collect. They are rarer beauties.

Do you have a number in mind you are wanting to get? This thing looks like it would have success on BAT.

First blush, I am thinking in the $18-20K range but I haven't really dug into recents sales, etc. yet. That may be unrealistic. FInal figure will depend on if the buyer wants the hardtop or not. I will list it with the softtop as part of the sale. Hardtop for additional $ because I know I could sell it later for good money. I don't want the softtop left here when the Jeep leaves though.

And, keeping both for a while is an option. Original plan for Jeep was to have my daughter drive it starting next July, but she is thinking she wants something a little more practical for a teenage girl. Her friends think she is crazy. And, as the time approaches, while she is responsible I am a little worried about this thing starting to bounce off stuff with a teenager behind the wheel killing any resale it has now.

Another option is to keep both, and sell my GX460. But I love that vehicle as well. I am confident it is a better daily driver than the Bronco. I would love for my wife to take the GX460 and sell her car, but I don't see that happening. Maybe she will like the Bronco as a daily.

I'm sure it would sell on BAT or C&B, but the non-rubicon models just don't bring that much money comparatively. No harm in consulting with either one though, they'll give feedback on sales pricing. I think you're looking at a $15k sale or so. If that's not enough, just keep it and enjoy.

I was going to say, looking probably around $15k with the hard top honestly.

I am sure my expectations are high, but getting feedback from BAT and C&B may be the next step. I may just keep it around for a year anyway. Clean versions are hard to find in the Northeast due to rust, so maybe I can grab a few more $ in this area.

I am going to have the oil changed and inspection done in the next week, so I am going to have the shop give it a "used car purchase inspection" like they would if I was looking to buy it so I can get a list of potential recommendations on maintenance items or issues.

I've got a 2005 LJ Rubicon and I wouldn't take less than $25K for it. Post it to facebook jeep pages in your area and the nearest large city. There's someone that's dying to have one and will pay more for it, especially in that good of shape.

Have a buddy that started her daughter on a TJ. She probably can do more wrenching on it than I can.

Random question but what's your method for taking the hard top off. That thing is stupid heavy.

I installed a Harken Hoist in my garage. Works great. Can install or remove by myself.

Absolutely keep it if you can. I regret selling my LJ, but life changes more or less forced my hand.

For reference, I sold mine for $18k 5 years ago:

Update: after being rejected by BAT (likely because I requested a reserve) and not liking the reserve number from C&B I listed the LJ on Facebook Marketplace and a couple of LJ Groups yesterday.

Tonight, met with a buyer near the house and as soon as I parked the Jeep, he said "I'll take it". Perfect buyer, multiple Jeep owner (CJ and YJ, recently sold a two door JK) looking for something with more room. After we chatted for a bit, and I felt comfortable he wasn't a scammer, we went to the house so he could check out the hard top as well. We wrote up a quick Bill of Sale, he gave me a cash deposit to hold the vehicle, and we will meet at the local Auto Tag office tomorrow to complete the transaction.

Found a number in the range I was looking for earlier in this thread so I am happy. I am sure there will be days when I miss it. But, I am absolutely digging the new Bronco that took its place.
