My mother-in-laws SUV needs AC work. She took it to the dealer on her own, got the expected let's screw the old lady quote and decided she's not as independent as she thought. Any suggestions for a reasonable indy that can deal with a 10 year old Cadillac?

Its been a while since I used them but Uzi's Autohaus on Bellaire was pretty good. See if Gaul/Gall is still there.

I've been happy with Neil's Auto Air. He's near 610 and Ella on north side. Not terribly far from your area. Quick service, good prices, small shop and seems like an honest guy.

It's not Bellaire (roughly Gessner & I-10)but we used G&S Auto based on a Texags recommendation. They were on point.

Just as an update, I took it into Bellaire Tire & Automotive. It's a Goodyear store but I doubt more than a third of their business is tires. Gave the same diagnosis as the dealership with total costs about 60% of what the dealer quoted, using Delco parts. Will be back.
