How long do you want to ignore this user?
Need the Auto board crew to help settle an "argument" wife and I had yesterday....
Got a '22 F150 super crew with just the stock window tint on the rear windows. We were discussing getting the windows tinted. She thinks the rear windows are tinted well enough and block UV. I think they are too light and IF they block UV it only does to a small extent. So here are my questions:

1) what % are the rear and back windows tinted?
2) any idea if it blocks UV?
3) here was my plan assuming what is stock doesn't really block UV at all (or very little) so please tell me if this sounds reasonable
-put a clear "tint" on the back window as well as the front windshield.....this ideally would help keep truck cooler and still keep visibility the way it is now
-tint front windows to match back windows
-leave rear windows alone if they truly are effective blocking heat/UV as is....if not, maybe put clear "tint" on these as well
-OR maybe go a little darker on rear windows and have front windows match??

any thoughts?

and yes, I'm in Houston and will be using Fabian

I have Limo ceramic over my F150 factory rear glass.

And 35 on front doors and 70 on windshield.

I recommend this if you do a lot of driving.

I keep it dark for security

Oem glass is around 30 VLT.

Clear ceramic would reject more uv than oem factory privacy glass, but if you're gonna pay for tint, why not go darker?

do you have actual tint or the darkened factory glass? i take it you mean the dark glass in which case you will still want aftermarket tint because that darkened glass doesn't do much of anything,.

you don't necessarily have to get the darkest aftermarket tint to get great UV and heat deflection.

i always just go to the shop and tell them i want the darkest legal tint with best UV and heat protection on the front and make the back match for uniformity.

- I'd go at least slightly darker for your rear windows for sake of comfort and security. Add at least a 50% film.
- Matching the fronts to rear makes it fairly apparent that your front windows are illegal. Rear windows being darker provides benefit of the doubt. By no means am I recommending legal tint up front.
- A film in the 70% range is virtually clear, anything lighter that is a waste IMO as you're just giving away heat rejection.
- Definitely tint your windshield

70% windshield, 20% fronts, & 20% over factory rear privacy.
