Little bit of nostalgia chasing… I used to have an extended cab 2002 F150 with manual transmission. Just for fun, I'm trying to locate an F150 or Silverado with manual transmission around 2002 to 2008 when they stopped making them.

Something about having a manual in the full bodied half ton just felt right. I wish I still had my old F150…. Or maybe I have revisionist history and it wasn't as cool as I think it was.

I had one. It was cool until I had to drive the manual RWD on snow & ice. Then it sucked!

Manual transmissions for Jeeps or Broncos sound cool for off-roading. Otherwise, not much benefit anymore. I mean...how will you text and drive?

I think youre more likely to find manual in a 3/4 or 1 ton

When I first bought my jeep it kept me from texting and driving, but eventually I learned to overcome

This. It's just going to be a difficult vehicle to find in a half ton. If you really want a truck with a manual you might consider looking for a Tacoma. I know it's not a full size truck but if you don't want to get a heavy duty it might be your best bet for a manual transmission.

It's sad but true. My buddy had a single cab Silverado stick shift and we piled into it back In college. Just fond memories of love the nostalgia kick

Friend in HS had an 02 f150 w/ the 4.2L stick combo, for what it was that truck screamed

That's a decent deal even with v6. The regular cab short bed is highly sought after by takuaches

Stick shift trucks are few and far between on the used market. It sucks because most trucks over a decade old have god awful 4 speed torque converter automatics. I don't think I could ever own another vehicle with a POS 4 speed automatic after growing up in manuals and experiencing the newer 8 and 10 speed autos ( and then only because manuals are hard to find in decent vehicles that aren't sports cars). They just drive terrible and take away 95% of your control of the powertrain.
