I recently got a pretty big chip in my windshield and looking to have it fixed or patched to hope that it doesn't spider web to the whole windshield

Does anyone know of a good fix it place in west Houston

Just get a windshield repair kit at autozone or have one sent from amazon. Super easy to do yourself.

Edit - I see you said big chip. These repair kits work great on smaller chips. Not sure how big is too big.

How anal are you? I'm pretty particular about this kind of thing. I've been using the same guy for 20 years. Ace Chip and crack is who I would use. He and his wife run the business and he does the work. Chips and cracks is all he does. He's quirky dude and if you want to talk to an expert in a field, this is the guy. He will fix your chip and also explain refractive indices and the intricacies of fixing a chip. Hes just a person I appreciate because he is really into what he does. It's neat. he's fixed chips that are bigger than a silver dollar. I had one that was hard enough it actually cracked on the inside. He fixed it. And if it runs across the whole windshield, he can fix that too.
