I recently purchased this truck (108k miles).

Backing up in my driveway my rear view camera goes off and the wrench symbol + CEL pops up on the dash. Also notice that the PRNDL lights on the dash are all white (i.e. normally the R would be orange if in reverse). So seems car doesn't know what position the shifter is in. Mechanically the transmission seems fine, shifts smooth and seems to work normally despite this issue.

Any advice? Should I take to dealer or independent mechanic? Any west Houston / Katy recommendations?
