I am looking to buy a used car in the Houston area through a private party and want to get a PPI done. Has anyone used Lemon Squad or other mobile PPI?

I've read some bad reviews on lemon squad.

I'd have the car brought to a mechanic of my choice to have them check everything out, test drive it, etc. and provide the report in writing.

That's what I figured. It is unfortunately on the other side of town so I am not familiar with any mechanics on the East side of Houston

Can't say I'm familiar with east Houston. Where specifically is the car? Should be able to find a well regarded mechanic by looking through reviews

100% based on reading reviews of places in Baytown, no personal experience.

Santiago's auto repair is where I'd take it if I were in your shoes.
