P06DA
2014 Silverado 1500 4.3L V6 4wd
~118,000 miles

Looks like it's a bad solenoid in the oil pump and due to the location of the pump, it's disassemble the entire front end kind of job. I'm expecting that I'm going to have to replace the transmission in the next 15-20k miles (based off what I'm heard from a transmission place).

Oil pressure gauge appears to be showing normal numbers. 40 at idle, up around 50-60 when driving.

I feel like the ideal scenario is I limp along until the transmission goes out and I get it all done at the same time, but I'm out of my element here. Any advice appreciated.

Recent oil change? 50-60 psi sounds high, did a shop use too thick oil?

Not sure on the code, but those are good oil pressure figures.

The code alone is a generic oil pressure switch, not a solenoid code.

I've always run synthetic in it, except for one time when I'm pretty sure the shop I took it to didn't listen and put conventional in it, and then lied to me. Can't confirm that though. Currently about 3k miles since last change.

I'm not noticing anything when I drive. I can clear the code and it'll typically come back on within 1 mile of driving. Seems like it's while going uphill typically.

Google shows this:

Possible causes P06DA code:
  • Oil pump solenoid control circuit shorted to voltage.
  • Oil pump solenoid control circuit open or shorted to ground.
  • Oil pump solenoid control circuit open/high resistance.
  • Oil pum solenoid.
  • Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

I just had to replace my transmission at 150k miles. 2014 Silverado as well.

Took mine into a transmission place about 6 months ago because I was concerned it was headed that direction They did a full replacement of the fluid and checked everything. Shop owner told me he's had several '14 V6s in for replacement around 140k. This truck seems like it's been trouble from the get go.

Ya, it's a common problem with the 6 speed. Mines got the 5.3L and it's 4x4. I want to say it took 5 weeks just to get the transmission. I've been told to service it at least every 30k miles.
