Ordered some Bilstein 5100s for my F150 (front and rear). Any recs on where to take it in BCS? One of the guys on here made a recommendation for a guy at Telge Automotive in Cypress, which I don't really oppose, I just prefer to stay in town so I don't have to drive out of town and be stuck out of town without a vehicle.

Any recs in BCS would be appreciated. I know some may say it is easy and you can do it yourself, but I would rather pay a professional.

Rule #1 for your troubles. Plan on swapping out the stock Hankook tires for something a little bigger eventually. Had Cooper All Terrains on my last truck. They were great tires but got extremely loud last time. Any tires recs would be appreciated as well.

Unless you will be doing true off-roading (and no - I don't consider going down a dirt road to be "off-roading"), then I would suggest the Michelin LTX MS. It is the only tire I will use on our 1/2 ton PU's. Long-lasting, quiet, and will handle pretty much anything you throw at it.

For heavy-duty off-roading, I will defer to that particular crowd.

Sorry - can't help you with an installer, but can tell you one place to stay away from. I would not recommend Texas Fleet Outfitters in Bryan. Biggest jerks to deal with that I've seen in a long time......

Definitely seems like it after talking to him and seeing what the other guys on this board have said about him. Just really wanted to stay local. But, if I have to travel an hour just to save $500-600 I will. Had to drive to Houston to buy my truck to because CS Ford wouldn't budge. Would love to buy everything local, but not if it's going to be that big of a difference. I like to save where I can so I can buy other things lol.

Let Robert know you got his name from the TexAgs auto board. Robert's a good guy. He's been taking care of my vehicles for over 20 years. Shop isn't anything fancy but he has good mechanics and does good work.

As for tires, look at Michelin LTX AT2's. I've had those on my truck for 50,000 miles now. Still have another 10,000+ miles left on them. Work great on the beach/sand and on muddy roads. Not overly aggressive and give a good ride.

As for size, I went 275/60/20 tires. They are an inch taller than stock and a little narrower. Didn't see any impact on mileage.
