I ordered a Bronco about two months ago and barely got an email from Ford last week that said it was "scheduled for production." But I saw today that they're shutting down Bronco orders today and not taking any more. Since mine wasn't built yet, think I got left out?

No. Yours in in production. Give it eight weeks.

Shutting down orders =/= stopping production.

It just means they have taken orders for all they can build. Yours is scheduled, you should be ok.

I think.

Here you go. I typed this up for another thread a while back. This was my timeline.

A little more real world timeline info for those of you still waiting.

Order confirmed 10/28 via email by Ford (this is not a Oder reservation from the dealer). This email comes with an order number and VIN.

Email said vehicle was scheduled for production week of 12/20.

Notified it was being built 1/5; and given an estimated delivery of 1/28. Notified build was finished 1/12. Actually delivery 1/19.

83 days in total.

8 weeks lol. Try 8 months and then MAYBE you'll get it. 8/2021 order, still waiting.

I reserved mine in June of 2020. I didn't get it till Jan 2022. Ain't no luck on my side chief.

Scheduled for production isn't the same as when you placed an order.

Ah, that makes more sense. Sadly I'm a part of the 12/6 lost batch stuck on snow mountain.

Relax. Enjoy your nice quiet car. They'll be plenty of time to get used to the road noise and rattles.

Biggest factor on Bronco Builds is available parts. Currently tow hitch and hard top will cause the longest delay.

PSA If you have a tow hitch on your Bronco order remove it and order it separately from parts because it is the exact same one installed at the factory. It takes about 15 min to install.

I don't have any of the problem items on my Bronco, no tow hitch, no hard top, etc. It is currently fully built and lost on Snow Mountain with the rest of the 12/6 lost batch.

Understood. Post was for everyone. And I feel your pain. I have Broncos coming in that are similar builds but were ordered much later then others so how are they built first???

Dealer Allocation is the answer to your question. Dealers who ran off reservations by not agreeing to sell for MSRP still get their "fair" share of Bronco's. So anyone can go into one of those dealerships and place an order for immediate production. Meanwhile the dealerships who brought in as many reservations as they could get don't get much of a bump over their "fair" share allocation, have customers backed up into 2023 and for two dealers who advertised below MSRP prices whose accepted reservations could stretch into 2025.

My first 24 hour reservation was initially number 5 of 9 allocations in 2021 at my dealer. They got 4 in 2021 so I was pushed to January, which put me on Ice Mountain until this week. It is finally on the way now, over 600 days later.

So how "in demand" are these things right now? If a dealer gets an order in and the customer ends up not buying it for whatever reason, how much over MSRP are they putting it on their lot for? And are they getting what they're asking?

Depends on the trim. How many doors, is it a Sasquatch. Sticker on mine was $58, dealer offered almost $70 after I drove it for a month. So they were clearly going to flip it for more. My guess was around $80-82.

20K over seems to be a standard. There are lower markups out there and some whoppers, upwards of 50K as well. I would imagine the situation won't get better until '23. ADMs might start coming down later this year but as an early reservation and only just now getting mine, there are probably 80-100K reservations out there waiting to be filled.

So can a dealer make a side deal with a buyer who reserved one. Say they agreed to let him order for MSRP, when it comes in can the dealer say "hey, a deal's a deal, but we'll give you a check for $10k if you don't buy it and let us sell it on our lot"?

If any of you guys are itching for a Bronco NOW and are willing to pay extra, there's a group in Houston that has 2-3 Broncos for sale that have already been customized in the $75k range:

https://www.facebook.com/thebroncooutfitters

I have no idea how much all the mods should add to the value. The owner is an Aggie FWIW.

There is supposed to be a penalty from Ford that a certain number of reservations need to be fulfilled and if they go under, they lose some of their allocation. The specific arrangement is not something that has been published so I don't know what percent have to be sold to the reservation holder. There are plenty of examples of dealers not honoring a no ADM deal and the reservation holder walking away.

Mods (from a non-famous shop) add value these days? Damn, I'd old.

They buy the Broncos new, add the mods, mark up the price and then sell them for a profit. Not a new idea really. In any case, it remains to be seen if it will work. They haven't sold yet.
