About time to sell my Mother-in-law's 1992 Ford Ranger single cab.

59,270 original miles

Been sitting a few years due to a pretty severe oil leak (rear main seal?)


Not sure what it is worth, but if there is interest, I'll push it out and clean it up and take pics this weekend.

My Father-in Law used it to haul a few bales of hay to his cattle when they lived in Brenham. Been mostly parked since he passed.



It really looked pretty good before we parked it, Hopefully it will clean up ok.
Interior still looks great.

That's a badass truck.

I had a 1992 supercab 4.0 standard in High school and college. I drove the heck of it. It had a rough 120k on it and never had any problems except AC evaporator. Pulled a 16ft lowboys with a MF35 tractor many times. Exterior pics as well.

I've owned 3 rangers (an '87, a '92, and a '08) Definitely interested.

Good news/bad news.

Replaced battery. Wouldn't crank.
Turned engine by hand. It's free.
Replaced starter solenoid. Cranks, won't start. No fuel.
Removed bed, replaced fuel pump. Now runs, not well. Needs new gas most certainly.
Started washing it. Bed still off so I could get behind the cab.


Before I told him I was getting it running to sell, my Nephew asked if he could have it. Looks like it won't be going to the TexAgs auction after all. I will let you know if he changes his mind (a fairly high probability, actually)

Back in one piece.
I'll get some fresh gasoline tomorrow and see if I can make it run as good as it looks.

What is a realistic price for a truck like this? 60k miles on a '92. This is a great truck.

I had the Supercab version of this pickup! I loved it, but when we had Second child, both of those car seats would not fit sideways on the floor behind the seats. So, I had to give it up for a different vehicle. That 4.0 was awesome. Like most of those vehicles, the AC compressor did go out, and we replaced it. Other than that, that engine was extremely reliable and plenty powerful. Pulled a 18 foot bass boat frequently with it.

I also have a 1972 Maverick Grabber that needs to find a new home. This one belongs to me so I feel safe saying this one will be sold if the price is right.

Looks like that straight six, 200 engine. I had that in a college car I bought. Great looking car!

***Ranger UPDATE***

As predicted, nephew is unable to make the Ranger work for him. He is starting a new job and needs 4 doors, reliability, Yada, Yada.

His loss is your gain. I'll dig out the title and post it in the classified section in the next few days.

I did take it and put some fuel treatment in it and filled it up with a fresh tank of gas and it is starting and running great.
I thought I remembered an oil leak, but I can't find evidence of one. Maybe it was over filled or something. I'll keep watching. The a/c doesn't work. I think last time I added freon and it did fine. Probably fix the leak and service it and it will work just fine.

It is here in College Station if anyone is interested in looking at it.
