Last race I went to was in 2007. I have an old Bearcat SC 200 that worked well for many years. Someone mentioned radios are digital now. I looked up a list of team frequencies, and they look like the same range from 20 years ago. Anyone know if I will have a problem using this old scanner? We are going to COTA on March 27

You can rent them ahead of time, pick them up at the track, and then drop off afterwards. It is programmed with all the drivers, radio, and TV broadcast frequencies

Pretty sure you can still use a regular scanner unless they changed it this year

Yeah, I don't want to rent and don't mind programming my own scanner. I lost count of how many races I went to in the 1990s and early 2000s. I bought my own scanner and headsets so I wouldn't have to rent.

Nothing outside of some admin/off track radios are digital so scan away using the normal frequencies.

Worked as well as it did 20 years ago. Good race on Sunday.

The nascar app streams the radios. You can listen to all drivers at once, or pick 1, it even has the track officials channel. I pay the small fee for it so I can listen to it at home while I watch on TV.
