I bought a used 2019 F150 on 10/22 with low miles and it looks and drives great but I had a big problem yesterday. I was getting my first carwash with the new vehicle and as soon as the water started in the carwash it started flowing into my truck. The broken seal or hole is at the top of the windshield right next to the rear view mirror on the passenger side. So much water came through and I had to take my shirt off and try to stop the water. Water got all over the floor and console and all over the screen. My speakers made loud cracking sound and now none of the audio works. Water was dripping out of the light buttons by the sunglasses holder up top.

It was extremely frustrating since I was stuck in one of those carwashes where your in neutral and have to ride though. I've only had the truck for a week and I'm going back to the dealer today to have them fix it or take the truck back. I'm guessing they will have to take the dash apart. I had water dripping this morning when I drove it to work. Has this ever happened to anyone? I don't know if it had a new window installed on it incorrectly or what.

I'm sure you could sell it as-is for more money than you paid, right?

No sunroof. I just got a call from the Glass company and apparently they put a new windshield on in September and must have messed up. The glass company told me to bring it by to get it fixed but I said I'm taking it back to the dealer to get everything fixed. Sh*tty situation all around.

I'd be asking the dealer to take it back at this point. It's more than just fixing a windshield, you have high risk of long-term electrical problems.

This. Plus, how many times did it rain hard between when the new windshield was installed and your car wash issue.

I am not meaning to laugh at your pain, but in my mind's eye, the visual of your struggle is hilarious. I truly hope the dealer makes it right for you!

Soon people will be on here telling you thats what you get for not doing your own washes. I am surprised it has taken this long honestly.

This is actually somewhat common. I've heard of Ford replacing the entire interior when it does happen. I wouldn't let them off the hook unless they do

Curious what the actual issue turns out to be. I can see some drips if a the windshield guy messed up, but this sounds like a huge leak....like you would hear wind noise on normal driving thru whatever gapping hole is causing it.

I took it back to Mac Haik Ford yesterday after work. The service shop told me its the other glass company's fault because they replaced the glass a month ago. Mac Haik tried making it the glass company's responsibility to get me a loaner car. Ford said they wouldn't have a loaner car for me to use until the end of November. I made it clear that wasn't an option since I bought the truck 9 days ago and I needed something immediately. The finally set me up with a pre owned 2020 f150 to use for a few days.

The whole situation is a mess with Mac Haik trying to pass off the repairs to the glass company. I told them that ultimately its their fault too because they were the ones sold it off their lot.

If they subcontracted the repair to the glass company, it's 100% on them or at least between them and the glass folks.

Would he have noticed the leak more quickly being on the outside of the car?

Had a somewhat similar issue on my 2011 Ram except the water leaked in from around the bed light on the top rear of the cab. Just another issue that Dodge/Ram refused to recall. Easy fix though. Took the lens off and applied silicone around the edge of the lens and viola, no more leak.

Thanks for nothing Dodge.

Still like my Ram though.

Thinking about trading it in, just can't get passed the cost of a used vehicle with 80K miles.

Had a small leak when I bought my 2014 new so I hauled it over to the dealer for warranty. That dealer also had to sub the job out to a local glass guy.

Guessing a lot of dealerships don't have an in house glass guy?

Update. I was told by 3 people (service tech, glass company employee, and Enterprise dude) to bring the loaner truck back in today to switch it for an Enterprise rental paid by the glass company. When I get to the dealership they said I didn't have to come after all and that they are letting me stay in the dealer loaner truck. I was pissed that no one thought it would be a good idea to let me know since I had to take off work and get stuck in traffic as the storm hit.

Service tech told me that they replaced the windshield and carpet and that everything seemed to be working including the audio. He said it must have dried up and I said that's not good enough. I want them to actually take time to look into the wiring instead of just letting it dry out. I had water seep into the screen and dash.

This whole thing has been a mess. I think I'm going to talk to the GM of the whole dealership tomorrow. I've been told so many different things from the glass company and the service guy and the salesman and the new car manager. The fact that I drove there across town after work when I didn't need to because no one let me know really pissed me off too.

The salesman told me I could possibly return the truck but the manager said I can't and the salesman shouldn't be telling people that.

I'd consider getting insurance involved. No way you don't have significant electric issues down the road.

What a Dumpster fire.

Another Texager had his truck stolen out of the service department by a fired salesman and taken for a joyride.
