We have four kids and it's finally time to move into a bigger vehicle.

Wife drives a 2021 Ford Explorer Limited and really likes it.

Curious to hear the board's opinion on the full size lineup, in the Z71, AT4, and Timberline package for each.

I like the way the AT4 looks and very curious about the available 6.2 in the 2022 model.

Honda Odyssey Touring. $15k less and way more functional.

Source: we have 4 kids. Wife was hell bent on never having a minivan. She will drive this a good 8 years then move back to non bus SUV eventually.

My sister just got rid of her Sequoia because it was "junky."

I don't know what that means and she couldn't really explain it.

Go with the Expy Max. The interior of the GM vehicles are trash and there's a pretty good chance the 6.2 engine will blow up on you.

We've had a Max for 2.5 years after owning an XL Denali and I'll never go back to a GM.

Expy but Can you wait till next year? Gets a nice refresh but same power trains I think.

Also hopefully will have more inventory as you will get bent over by Chevy and Ford at the moment.

Just went through the same exercise and ended up with the Expedition Max. We're really happy with it.

"Junky" isn't a word I'd use on the Sequoia, but it's surely the least refined and the least advanced. There is way more plastic inside than you'd expect in a $60k Limited, and the Infotainment screen is the size of an iPhone. In that segment it would be the last I'd choose.

Personally I'd choose the Expedition right now. For MY 2023 the Sequoia will have a complete redesign.

Expy all day. Especially if y'all already like the explorer.

Wife switched from a Tahoe to the expy max. We test drive a high country burb as well and just wasn't impressed with it.
Went with with a KR expy max and we have really liked it

Please expand on this. "Pretty good chance" is > 70% to me.

Are you suggesting 70% of GMs 6.2L motors are "blowing up?"

As an avid GMC/Chevy fan, reading all these posts saying to go with the exposition make me sad. I love my '07 Tahoe to death do us part.

That being said, my wife got the 2021 Explorer a few months ago and it's awesome. Way better than the current GM/Chevy line up, not even close.

I personally think the new body style of the Tahoe/burb/Yukon is not bad. But the Silverados and truck body's just suck, particularly on the back half. And it really irritates me they followed ford with removing the emblem and just have a big ass "Chevrolet" on the back.

Needless to say, I'm not buying anything until they get it together. Get the exp max.

Pretty big iPhone

I'm also wondering what on the Toyota is plastic that isn't plastic on the Ford:

If you want your plastic wrapped in nice leather and wood you have to go Lexus, Lincoln, or Cadillac.

Otherwise, you're generally just debating over nicer faux leather grain and more soft touch.

Read that Ford will not have the timberline available in the expedition max.

As of now, thinking about an expedition timberline when available early next year.

Not a good comparison considering the top photo is not a Sequoia but a Toyota minivan.

I'd go Tahoe or Suburban, this board just has a love affair with Ford trucks/suv's.

And I don't know what that poster was talking about with the GM 6.2 engine blowing up. That has proved to be a very durable and reliable engine.

That 1st photo isn't of a Sequoia.

This the the Sequoia Limited.

The entire dash is hard plastic and the largest screen available is 7", even on the higher trim Platinum. I work for a sister company of GST and get new Toyota demos every few months. I've had a Sequoia limited 2021 for the last 4 months.

IMO the Sequoia the most reliable SUV on the market, other than the Land Cruiser, but it's well past it's prime.

They're completely changing it for Model Year 2023, and that should be a beauty.
