I'm having trouble finding an actual wireless camera solution to use with a car seat. Seems most have a wire from the camera to the display.

I also dont see any that just use an app and your phone as the monitor.

Anyone have / know of anything ?

Just put your wife in the backseat with the kid until they are at least 4 and forward facing. That's what I see most millennials do.

this product shouldn't exist (no offense)

This product already exists in a wired form. Just seeing if anyone has seen a wireless version.

No one wants to see if their kid is breathing in the car at night?

Strange thing to flex on....

It does seem odd that bluetooth only cameras are not more easy to find. Hope your kid's breathing problems get better.

Do you sit by the crib all night and make sure the baby is breathing?

I'm guessing this is your first child. I have 3...they're not as brittle as you think.

IMO, your child is more likely to be injured because you took your eyes off the road. Only takes a few seconds for things to go sideways.

We put one of those mirrors on the head rest when we had our first. I ripped that thing off quickly when I realized just how dangerous it really is.

You 100% do not need this. I know being a new parent is scary. Trust me. Our first is only 21 months and we had dos at the beginning of this month.

You also don't need the stupid owl socks. My buddy had them for his first kid. He warned us off using them.

Why not just a baby monitor jerry-rigged to a power inverter and some straps to hold the camera to the headrest?

I often wonder how we all managed to reach adulthood without HD baby monitors, $500 strollers, helmets for wagon rides, and surgical masks for the playground.

Relax. You're over thinking things. Parenting will be a lot easier if you just relax and enjoy it.

Assuming the new Volvo you bought for #1 has an 110V outlet, just use a standard baby cam clipped to the headrest with the monitor up front.

You really don't need this, but if you do, the baby monitor should calm your wife enough to focus on driving.

I'm betting on school bus to pack the whole house in for those trips to CVS for a carton of Marlboros, cant be too prepared.

Take the ribbing OP, we're all just a group of bad dads empathizing with you.

I caught my new parent ribbing when I asked a different board about a little fence to put in front of the fireplace. I just knew the little **** was gonna get in the ashes and make a mess. Well, she did and it wasn't a big deal at all. Glad I didn't buy a stupid fence.

If you're really concerned, get something like this. It's a mirror with the light. You can turn the light on/off with a remote that clips like a garage door opener.

And any video monitor isn't going to show you they are breathing any better than a mirror. We have video baby monitors for the kids beds and you can't see if they are breathing...the only thing that helps with that is the Owlet foot monitor.

I can absolutely see my kids chests moving when I check in on them with the Arlo cams.

Okay, this is a really stupid question from a dad whose kids have survived to adulthood.... How do you see the child using this device???

I'm a horrible parent. Do babies just randomly stop breathing? I guess that's SIDS.

I learned the answer to better sleep with kids is:

1) kid in another bedroom
2) no baby monitor
