I reached out to TitanAggie's contact at Sewell Fort Worth. He was friendly and responsive, but don't expect a deal. I made an offer on a vehicle that he balked at. Less than a week later they had it listed for LESS than I offered...

GX's are hot right now. Do not think you will have much luck looking for a deal but , darn, they are a great vehicke.

Which is amazing for something that's virtually unchanged for 10 years.

I got a great deal on a GX back in November from Park Place Lexus Grapevine. I highly recommend them and did everything over email. Came in and signed the papers in under an hour. Salesman was Kevin Cleveland.

Currently debating on another 5th gen 4 runner or a GX...

Have you test drove a GX? IMO, the v8 / 6spd. is much better than the v6 / 5spd. in the 4runner. Interior appointments, sound dampening, etc. are all better in the GX.

Does the gx require premium fuel?

I use premium. I think you can get away with mid.

Love the GX

The manual calls for 91. We run 93.

There are good reasons the GX has not changed much in 10 years. No need for change just for sake of change. Great vehicle

A friend had the GX 460 for about 5 years and always used regular. Never saw any change in MPG, but sold it for an LX before they could see any long term issues.

See my post on this board a few months ago. People that buy them know damn well what they're getting and they'll pay for it too.

We were in this situation about 2 years ago between a new 4 runner and an 8month old GX. We went went with the GX. I was leaning more 4 runner at the time but after having it for a bit we made the right decision in going for the GX. It is more comfortable, drives nicer, and while the interior is "dated" compared to competing models it is better than the 4 Runner

While I agree in general, the GX would greatly benefit from a more powerful engine. With ours the joke is that all the power must go to running the (awesome) air conditioning system because it certainly doesn't go to the wheels. I know it won't happen but the 5.7L becoming a GX option across all trim levels would be a welcome addition.

We have had our 2017 GX (luxury) for about 4 months now. Still love driving it as much as Day #1.

We found an awesome deal at a Range Rover dealership. Think people just glossed over it and it sat there for about 6 months. Has a few minor paint imperfections (if we got new my wife would have put those on there within 6 months lol) but the interior was almost flawless (ecru too). Little higher miles than I wanted but it was mostly highway based on the story we were told and funny enough I found an invoice in the car that proved at least a portion of the story.

We did not like and still do not like the newest version grill and wheels but obviously plenty of people would disagree with me/us and that is fine.

Great car. Great a/c. Fun to drive.Good luck!

Can anyone comment on the effectiveness of the ventilated seats? My understanding is that they do not actually have dedicated cooling units like Ford's and others -- just circulate the conditioned air from the cabin. Do they actually help out in the summer?

More than likely it will get the 3.5L TT out of the LS500 before it gets the 5.7. If they just did an 8 or 10 speed, it would be pretty venerable.

Almost nobody does cooled seats from the AC system these days.

Its a fan with ducting and a TED and the Peltier effect. (way beyond my knowledge on how it works).

I do know that Ford has some complaints in 2015-16 on some of their trucks and cars that didnt have good cooling on the back rest but good on the seat bottom, and there was a TSB, but someone actually came out with a pretty neat kit to relocate some ducting and the TED vents and it worked great for those that were out of warranty.

They could put the 4.6L variant that's in the LS460 in the GX since it has more power. The GX has 301/329 hp/tq while the LS 4.6L has 386/367.

That would work as well.

The cabin A/C system is my wife's is rather awesome. However, the driver's side cooled seat quit working. I need to take it in and get it fixed. When it was working, it worked well.

Its the same engine with the exception of Direct Injection. Sadly Lexus decided to kill that engine in the LS460 and offer a TT V6 and Atkisson Cycle 3.5L Hybrid. Its my opinion that dropping the V8 in their flagship was a bad idea, at least in the USA, but maybe most typical Q Ship buyers (read: Leasees) dont care what engine is in them.

Wow. I just looked at Cars.com and you are not kidding. The market is WAY different than when we bought a few months back. I would have to pay $9K more to get a vehicle with 9K more miles and its over 300 miles away. My filter was specific to my car but even the base models are going for $5K more than what we paid for the luxury...
