9,000 miles, had the truck for about 9 months.

Truck has run perfect every day since I got it until Saturday morning. Go out that morning, truck is flat dead. Had stuff to do in a hurry so I've been using my wife's car for the last couple days.

Fast forward to this morning, i disconnect the battery and I put a trickle charge on it, come back 2-3 hours later, truck fires right back up, no problem, except my Amp power running boards won't work. I pulled the 30 amp fuse for the running boards at the battery, stuck it back in, running boards work again. Drove the truck for 15-20 minutes, parked, and finished my day.

It's now been 4 hours since I last drove it, and the battery is dead again.

Anyone have any clues what's going on?

Faulty battery. Get a new one under warranty

15-20 isn't enough. Keep on trickle all night.

Going to try an overnight charge and see how it does the rest of the day. If it starts acting up again, dealership right away.

what setting are you on?

It's a vato-zone Duralast DL-15D charger/maintainer.

When I charged it the first time, I had it set on STD (heh). 4 hours of charge was enough to start the truck, but it drained again.

When I charged it overnight Wednesday evening, I had it set to AGM. It's been starting running like new again.

I think the truck tried to give me a warning sign that something was up, because I noticed for a week or two at least that the auto start/stop function wasn't working. I don't touch the button, and it wasn't shutting down at red lights like it used to.

After charging overnight, it's back to utilizing the auto start/stop. Does that make any sense to you?

I'm ecstatic I don't have to mess with a dealership right now, I just don't think I would have left a light on in the cab. I never use the interior lights, especially during Covid where I wasn't driving at night. Would be great if this wasn't a long term recurring issue.

The BMS will disable A.S.S. If the battery isn't in full charge. If you drive carefully enough using Tactical Input of Throttle Strategy, T.I.T.S., the system is much happier while maximizing fuel economy.

Lockdown has everyone's modern cars just going up the block to HEB or picking up Los Cucos. Lots of idling and not enough to keep all systems topped off. Good idea to let all the whips have one night of charge time to stay nice and topped off.
