I will preface with neither.

I will answer with navigator because I don't like GM tech or fit and finish.

This is the automotive board, only two options: white ecoboost F150, or Honda Odyssey.

Neither. Hold out for the Bronco. It should arrive in about 6 more years.

If you're considering an Escalade, you may want to wait as a change is coming for the 2021 model year. With that said, I prefer the looks of the Navigator.

2020 Navigator is clearly superior to 2020 Escalade. However, the 2021 Escalade will be out this Fall and warrants a close look.

2020 Navigator is clearly superior to 2020 Escalade. I own a Navigator and test drove the Escalade and the Lincoln has a far better engine and brakes. The styling is a subjective choice - I like both quite a bit.

However, the 2021 Escalade will be out this Fall and warrants a close look. Hopefully they don't have the same sluggish V-8 and weak ass brakes.

I would go landcruiser or LX. Personal preference though. I own an expedition max but would have bought a GX but I need all 3 rows full time and liked the extra room of the expedition max.

Expedition max platinum and $20k in the bank wouldn't be too bad of a navigator alternative.

Why are you down to Escalade vs. navigator? What features do they have that made them your top choices vs. Tahoe/Expedition?

He probably already knows that. There's a reason he isn't looking at those options, and that's perfectly ok, but someone that goes right to Escalade/navigator isn't going to say, "wow, I never realized that a bombed out Yukon Denali or expedition platinum would save me that much money!" when you position it that way. Joneses and such.

Both cars are going to depreciate quickly, neither has earth shattering tech in them, I'm sure either will look great dropping aiden off at select baseball practice or brayleigh off at competitive cheer. I would prefer navigator.

As someone who had a 2003 Denali (bought as a demo) and then a 2009 (bought 2 years old with 30k miles) and just bought a 2019 Expedition MAX Platinum I would go that route. Between my wife and I, we have owned a fair number of vehicle both domestic and foreign and I've never seen such bad fit and finish and small things break in a vehicle than that last Yukon. Loved the look and the engine was awesome but the new Expy makes me never miss it.

My SIL just paid $36K for a 2015 Escalade (fourth gen, just like the 2020) with 69K miles. I personally think it's a horrible investment even now, but that's not the point. The MSRP on the base Escalade that year was $76K, assuming it's the base model it's depreciated $40K in five years and 69K miles. That's a lot of money to the wind.

It'll probably be worth $20K - $25K when she tries to sell it in two years. There's a new model coming out in the fall of this year. People are asking $18K - $20K for 2013 Escalades that are the old body style.

Escalade = overextended realtor. If that's not you, go for the Navigator. Big azz rims optional; if you don't buy them the next owner will.

'17 Land Cruiser 200 and '19 Navigator owner here. Traded a '14 LX for the Navigator. I would vote LC or LX570 if you're going to keep more than 5 years, Navigator if less. The Navigator is more comfortable on the highway, tows better, and has far better tech than LC/LX.

This is subjective, but the domestic products age quicker in fit, finish, and looks for me. Toyota products feel new after 5 years if taken care of. I cleaned my Land Cruiser up really good yesterday and I like it as much as the day I bought it. I cleaned up my wife's Navigator really good the day before and was surprised how much wear it's showing at 7 months and 8,000 miles.

I know this wasn't Escalade vs Navigator, but some above suggested LC or LX.

This and the Toyota of Dallas thread from earlier this week had me on the lookout - and sure enough, I saw a black on black LC with the (kind of weird) black gold wheels that rolled off the lot in Dallas last Wednesday (based on the temp tag date). Looking at it, I don't necessarily feel like its a superior choice, unless you're going to keep it for 15 years.

Its $90K+ for a nice big SUV whichever way you're looking at this thing.

Also - what are those wheels going to look like in 15-20 years? Or any set of crazy wheels, for that matter.

GLS450 or 550 depending on how fast you want to go.
It's a little smaller than the rest though. If you need size get the navigator, very nice vehicles.

I haven't seen the interior of a 2020 LX, but the earlier ones had a terrible 3rd row. Plus, you have to live with a front grille that looks like a Cylon Centurion from Battlestar Galactica.

I'll parallel the low rent mob here and say that the cheaper Sequioa is a far better value alternative to the LX. Plus its a freaking tank. The engine is inferior to the Ford/Lincoln engine however,
