Saw it last night. 8/10

Somewhat entertaining. Interesting historical portrayal I thought including vilification of Leo Beebe.

I just asked some other friends about this last night - I've heard it was good and I since we usually take a movie in as a family this weekend I'll push for this. It seems everything is either a comic book or remake - so an original movie has built in appeal already.

Made Lee Iacocca look much more interesting than I remember him with Chrysler.

Decent but it's no Days of Thunder.

There's and LS cathedral port head in one shot. They should have taken my offer to consult!

Watch "The 24 Hour War" on Netflix. It's a documentary on the very same thing, but covers a little more time before and after. It compliments the movie well and it's neat to see the real people in the documentary and how well some of the actors in the movie looked liked them. If you liked the movie it's a definite watch.

I really want to see this movie.

Also, really agree with this poster. Getting tired of comic book movies and remakes

Just got back. I enjoyed it. Certainly an 8/10, maybe higher when compared to what passes for regular movie fare these days.

Case in point: of the 6-7 movie previews, the only one I'd intend to see is 1917 - and I'd have to think a while to name or identify two others.

Saw it Thanksgiving Day.

Liked it a lot.

Only thing that really bothered me was the unrealistic (for movie effect) shifting.

For those of you that know the real history, how close is it to the way the real events happened?

I listened to the Past Gas Podcast Ford v Ferrari series by Donut Media. The guys can be kind of...overbearing...borderline annoying... but I kinda like it. Definitely not for everyone though. Anyways, it was 4 part, each one hour. Now I really wanna go see the movie.

There are some Hollywood liberties taken, but overall yes it is accurate to the snap shot of the timeline the movie portrays in the whole timeline of Shelby and Ford.

I've seen it twice, I recommend watching the Shelby and the 24 hour docs on Netflix before watching the movie.

I also read Go Like Hell a few years ago...now I'll probably read it again.

Just purchased Go Like Hell because of your post.

Might be 2021 before I can read it, but I got for $3 on Kindle, so no biggie.

Seemed pretty accurate. There was a lot of dramatic license, but the only thing really fabricated for drama was Beebe forcing Miles off the racing team for the 1965 race. Ken Miles actually raced the '65 Lemans -- he was not left off the team, listening on the radio, as depicted in the move.

Holy crap. That's no small item to take license with.

Watched both documentaries and they were great - thanks for the rec. They cover some of the same ground, using much of the same footage/interviews, but both deserve a watch. They fill in some of the holes and correct the "artistic license" from the movie.

While looking up a combo of Wester and Porsche I came across this photo of Porsche driver Don Wester just ahead of Ken Miles at the Laguna Seca corkscrew
