It's time for a new set of tires and I'm considering moving to a taller tire from the stock 275/55/20 (32") to a 275/65/20 (34").

I've read the F150 forums and know the tires will fit, just curious if any of you are running the size and what you think of ride/handling and impact on mileage. Biggest negative to the size is almost all options are E rated and 15-18 lbs heavier than stock.

Truck is an '18 4x4 with 3.55 rear and leveled with Bilstein 5100s set at 1.75".

Yes. I'm running BFG KO2s in that size, but on a '18 Duramax. Guess that might not help you much though.

Edit: I like them a lot for handling, ride, etc., but they aren't the best at holding up during towing. Mine have ~27k miles on them and are already wearing a little more than I would expect.

I am not running that size but I'll add my input just for another data point for you.

I am running 285/60/20 (33.5" x 11.5") Nitto Ridge Grappler on a '19 with fox coilovers set at max height. I have no issues with clearance. I wanted to run 295/60 but everything I've read, and my tire shop owning buddy has told me, is that they rub on the UCA at full lock. I did not want any rubbing so went with the 285's. The E-rated ride is noticeably firmer than stock but not uncomfortable. I have seen maybe a full MPG drop in fuel economy but also have not calibrated my speedo.

Here's some quick pics the day I got it back, for visual reference:

Thank you fellas. I appreciate your responses.

K Bo - your truck looks great. Which motor do you have? I'm looking at the ridge grapplers and the new Cooper XLT-AT3.

Sharp looking pickup. How do you like the Ridge Grapplers? How is the noise?

I'm running 275/60/20's (33's) on my 2016 Lariat FX4.
Did the Bilstein 5100's set at +1.75" in the front.

On the tires I picked Michelin LTX AT2's - been very happy with them for the past 6,000 miles or so. Spend most of my time on the road. Smooth and quiet on the highway. Offroad they have worked well on muddy ranch roads and sand on the beach.

Can anyone recommend a shop in the Austin area to have the Bilstein 5100s installed? I went with 275/65/20 Wrangler Duratracs just now through Discount Tire's Labor Day deal. Dang tires are expensive.

2016 F150 4x4, if that matters.

I love the Ridge Grapplers. I don't find noise to be an issue at all. The ride is fine, for an E rated tire.

78681AG, I bet those tires will look good. Please post a pic once they're mounted!

Running those exact sized tires on a 2013 FX4 (Cooper ATPs). Fit fine. Slight rubbing at full lock, but nothing concerning.

*gas mileage going to drop by at least 2-3 MPG.
Nobody cares. Work Harder

Thanks Strongwind. Your truck looks great. I'm set to install 275/65/20 Cooper AT3 XLT tires this afternoon. That should be same width but an inch taller (34") than yours.

Hoping the additional inch and 15 lb weight increase for an E rated tire doesn't hurt me too much as far as sapping power. I do have have 3.55 gears, so the effective ratio should work out to 3.32 with the taller tires - almost the same as the more common 3.31 rear end.

Installed the new Coopers yesterday. Road noise is minimal, ride is more firm, feels more planted on corners. I do notice the change in effective gear ratio. Wouldn't recommend going this tall without at least the 3.55 gears. Will be curious to see what fuel mileage works out to after hand calculating for the odometer discrepancy.

I wound up getting the BFG KO2s. Discount had to order the Goodyear's, but they hadn't arrived in time for my scheduled appointment. The 275/65/20 BFGs were in stock, so I just went with them.

Bilstein 5100 adjustable font shocks at top notch; no change to the rear.

New tires, but no level:

I think this one shows the new stance and look better than the previous two:

I'm very pleased with the outcome. I can already tell the gas mileage is going to take a hit, but the ride is good and there's no noticeable road noise. At 65 or higher, the speedometer is off by 3-4 mph, which is annoying.
