I have a '16 Ram 2500 Cummins fully deleted w/ EZLynk + PPEI w/ 5 stage switch. The trans is starting to act up so I was wondering what y'all recommend. My performance shop says stear clear of ATS and recommended Suncoast or Revmax full replacements. I've been looking at the Suncoast Category 3 rebuild kit for about half the price of a full swap, which gets all parts of a fully "built" trans. There's just a ton of parts in the kit and I want someone who knows their **** to put it together. Any recs on a good shop around Houston? A different diesel shop in Magnolia gave me the rec of Texas Performance Trans in Humble.

My hang ups are a built replacement unit is coming fully assembled and tested for spec & functionality. Any problems will be backed. For the half price gamble, I put my trust in Joe trans mechanic in hopes he gets every single part in the below kit in and in correctly.

My .02, if you find someone that knows their stuff to put it together and is going to stand behind their work, you're not going to save anywhere close to half, in the end you might save $1500. If it were me, specifically for a performance trans, I'd be looking full replacement

I had two trucks with this transmission, both deleted running 100hp tunes with a decent amount of heavy towing. I'm surprised you have issues because I got over 200000 miles and they still performed like new. Maybe I got lucky.

I'm stuck in 5.9 land and can't help with your question, but I have one for you Cummins guys.

If you were looking for a Dodge/Ram Cummins newer than '07 with the 5.9, which model year and transmission would you choose to go after first if you just planned to keep it stock or do limited changes for longevity?

Looking for general farm use/family truck where I'm wondering how much to look for an old 5.9 megacab vs dealing with all the crap on newer ones for added cab room. Would probably keep it a long time.

Thanks.

07.5 and up only has the 6.7l. Up to 12 they're pretty easy to delete. My 07 and 13 were both megacabs and both deleted. I don't think you can go wrong

I heard people had issues with the '07.5 and '08 6.7 when they first came out. I've always thought about just sticking with older 5.9s because of it, but the youngest of them are getting so old now I'm wondering when I need to just deal with doing a delete. When did Dodge integrate Bluetooth into the trucks?

Would you buy an '07 5.9 or a '12 or '13 6.7? How was your economy in the 13?

All the issues with the 07.5 6.7l were dpf related. With the delete I never had another problem from 20k to 220k. No way if go 5.9l because of the transmission alone.
