Looking for a new grocery getter and farm truck. Im giving my current one (06 2500 Ram with 342K miles) to a neigbor. Looking for insight on what to look for or stay away from.

Any help in narrowing down what to be on the lookout for is appreciated.I know the 6.0 in early years had its issues, so some help with that would be nice. Plan on taking it to the local shop for them to look it over once I find 2 or 3 to choose from. Thanks

I'd look at the 7.3 diesel ford trucks 99-03. Good luck!

See what your neighbor will sell you the 06 back for. Hard to find much better truck for your price. Or find a similar one, or an '04. Why go back to an 02 Ford to get the 7.3 and worse economy? Not sure what the market for newer ford's is like, but it seems all their newer diesels need some type of work to keep them from having issues.

So what did you end up getting?
