Any recommendations for auto shippers? Open transport is fine, but not sure who to use. Cross country shipping.

When I shipped my Jeep from California to Houston last April I scoured Yelp for reviews and ended up settling on Patriot Auto Transport. It turns out they're a broker and the actual owner/operator that delivered the Jeep was UZ Auto Trans. In any event, I had a good experience with Patriot/UZ and the price was very fair relative to other quotes I received. They were communicative and quick to schedule pickup/deliver - I think they picked up at the front of their 3 day window and I had the Jeep in 3 days. The vehicles are placed on the truck based on the optimal delivery route but they were willing to work with me as much as possible to get the Jeep in a position I was OK with. The only thing I did not like, and this seemed to be the case across the board, was due to the Jeep being lifted and on larger tires I was charged the price for a larger vehicle (full-size SUV vs mid-size).

I bought a Humvee from the government and used Uship.com. It works like ebay sorta. You place an ad for what you want shipped and companies bid on it.

Thank you. I'm going to start with U-Ship and see how it goes.

I have used dependable auto shippers from Orlando to dallas. And Seattle to Atlanta. No issues and good customer service.

Another vote for Uship - used several times with good results. Just be aware that many of bids you will get are from brokers that use independent contractors - depending on pickup/drop-off location you may get a few companies that only use their own company drivers/trucks (some small "1 man show" companies). I have used the brokers and the small "1 man show" guys - better service in general from small guys but both worked just fine. If you are hauling to/from Houston area I have used HARS Towing & Car Hauling - Bruce Fortie 832-444-6076.
