Note that this is a great deal because any time you do any kind of front end work (DIY, another shop, etc) you can always go back to Firestone for an alignment.

As long as your local Firestone has good techs, Its a solid buy.

Plus their standard alignment is $80. Done twice and it pays for itself.

Think they'll notice when I put a lift kit on the Jeep and then whip out my lifetime alignment warranty card?

They would no longer honor my lifetime alignment when I lowered my car. Gave me refund though. So I got 3 alignments for free.

Unless you have adjustable control arms and trackbar, what alignment adjustment can you really make to a solid front axle jeep except re-centering the steering wheel?

edit: to say a stock wrangler has fixed control arms and trackbars
Set the toe and let it go.

how often do people need these done nowadays? i had a 2009 Silverado for 250,000 miles and never once had one done (that I recall, MAYBE there was one), and had even tire wear and no issues the entire time.

All depends.

If you live ITL in Houston and drive on crap roads and are a bad driver, annually.

If you do a lot of highway driving and are easy on your car, 250,000 miles....

I take mine in if I notice uneven tire wear or pulling or steering wheel cockeyed.

I bought the lifetime alignment on my wife's Tahoe when we changed out her first set of tires. That was 2009. We still drive the same Tahoe and get the alignment done once a year. It has more than paid for itself!

I may have to do this tomorrow. I noticed that my truck has developed a bit of a pull after some light off roading a few weeks ago.

I made the mistake of telling Firestone that I replaced the upper arms on my Nissan once, and they were really quick to void the lifetime alignment. Got 3 in before they did that.

It's actually not terribly hard to do a basic alignment on my Nissan without going to a shop as the alignment specs are different running a suspension lift.

Holy crap. How often do people get alignments around here?! Lol.

I can't figure if people just let techs talk them into **** they don't need, are wildly abusive with their vehicles while driving, or just swap front end parts for grins.

Edit: I see my question has been asked and answered. Still shocked.

Every time I replaced a tie rod end or ball joint or did a suspension lift or noticed odd front end tire wear.

I left the house to get an alignment this morning only to have the dreaded GM 5.3L "low oil pressure" light and bell blast. I'll probably let Firestone change out the oil pressure sending unit as that often tends to be the culprit. As soon as it warms up I'll try and drop the oil pan to replace the oil pump siphon o-ring that also tends to be the culprit.

Great way to start the year.

You can't use this after replacing front end parts? That kinda defeats the purpose.

Yep, fine print. If you go non-stock they actually have to WORK to get the alignment done tuned, since it will probably be out of factory spec if done correctly after modifications, and they probably had a lot of people with mods coming back in over and over complaining about wear issues caused by not having the proper alignment specs used for the lift.

If they do the word it does not void the warranty. It is like that with Brake Check and Pep Boys as well. It is all to drive work later. Sometimes, they may let you pay for a one time alignment if you had work done and then go back to your lifetime warranty. Kind of a "penalty".
