Time slips by fast for everyone, but with the end of the summer around the corner (we hope), lets all check our engine air filter and cabin filters.

These two filters are what your engine and you and your passengers need to breathe clean air. Driving with clogged and dirty filters isn't good for anyone.

This is an easy DIY that can be done by anyone, so dontt pay the dealer 80 bucks to replace one of these.

I replaced both in my work car today.

Here is the cabin filter. Looks original. I replaced it with an activated charcoal filter.

Did this today on my 4Runner and wife's Escape. She didn't even have one in hers... Come to find out it has always been that way. Terrible... Ford didn't even put one in.

Topped off windshield wiper fluid on both vehicles. Dropped some fuel injector cleaner in her tank too.

Washed and vacuumed both vehicles. Took 3 hours.

Supposedly, my '13 F150 doesn't have a replaceable one.

I only base that on the fact that I have not found one for sale anywhere.

I believe ford didn't have a cabin air filter in the f-150 until the new 2015s.

The Engine Air Filter can be bought pretty much at any auto parts place.

Correct.

GM had them in their GMT800 trucks but later deleted them because people weren't changing them and people were coming in and complaining about airflow and burned up blower motors.
