Bronze Fire looks maroonish in low light but looks burnt orange in full sun. I've been longing for the days of yesteryear when Ford made a true maroon color.

I saw a news article about the 2018 Ford Explorer being available in new colors including "burgundy velvet tinted clearcoat". Further research indicates the 2017 Ford Flex is available in this color although I haven't seen this out on the road. It sure looks maroon on Ford's website though.

What say you auto board? Is this the maroon we were looking for?

My truck is bronze fire and I don't think it looks burnt orange at all

I have a 2017 Ford fusion with that color and I really like it.

When I was looking at trucks last summer, I took a long, long look at the bronze fire color.

I agree with the OP that if you look at a small section that the sun is shining on directly, it is burnt orange.

However, everywhere else the color is maroon. It is a strange phenomenon.

I have only seen one truck with this color out on the streets, and the color was a very nice shade of maroon.

My co-worker is a sip and bought a bronze-fire truck because he claims it looked burnt orange when he bought it. Every time I see it I remind him how great his maroon truck looks. It drives him crazy.

I agree w the OP. I couldn't convince myself that bronze fire or the crimson red were maroon enough and opted for black. The post above is a good example of how it turns Maroon in low light (evening sun) but up close in midday sun - burnt orange to me.

That is not full sun, that is either morning or late afternoon.

Please don't think I'm splitting hairs, full sun is 10 am to 3 pm.

This is a weird thing to get riled up over but it drives me absolutely crazy when people mislabel colors. I swear I think the whole world is color blind. My friends mess with me about my maxima in college saying it was gold when it was tan because it drives me nuts.

Most obvious example are red heads. Their hair is orange and shades of orange; not freaking red.

Had the same thought as the OP when I was looking to buy a truck new last year. Could not get my self to commit to the bronze fire due to that very reason.

I'm about as redass as any Ag, but to not buy a vehicle that I liked because the color looked a little orange is going a little far.
