Getting ready to sell our 2011 Honda Civic in the next 2 months or so. I plan to use CL, autotrader, etc. to list the vehicle. I have only ever sold 1 used car before and it was a 150K+ mile clunker. I'd like to get any advice on where to start my asking price on this thing, some detail below. I appreciate any help from the auto board, this place has always been helpful!

Year: 2011
Make/Model/Trim: Honda Civic LX-S 4dr (LX model with 'sport' trim)
Miles: 83,XXX
Condition: Good - body, interior, and mechanics are all in good condition with normal wear and tear.
Color: Grey/Charcoal - interior is cloth

The vehicle has a regular history of oil changes and maintenance and almost all work has been done at the dealership we bought it from. My wife has been in 2 minor fender benders in the car, but I have paperwork from a reputable garage that did repairs showing no major damage (just cosmetics). Nevertheless, they will show on a carfax report.

NADA values show:
Rough trade in: $5750
Average trade in: $6725
Clean trade in: $7500
Clean retail: $9750

I was thinking about starting the price around $8,000-$8250 and taking the first offer over $7500. I'd like to move the car, but we are not desperate to sell. Am I asking too much/little with those prices? I haven't taken the car to Carmax or TDA yet, but plan to soon to understand where my floor is.

Any help is greatly appreciated. In Houston if that matters...

2 months ago we traded in an 09 civic ex coupe w/81k miles. Manual, white with cloth and navigation. Good condition but had decent scrape on passenger side to the metal. Got $6k offer from carmax which we leveraged at the dealer.

When I was doing the same research I targeted 6500 for private party so I think you are in the ballpark. I didn't list it so don't know for sure but seems reasonable.

I think I might know someone interested and probably willing to wait the "2 months or so". I'll check with them tomorrow. I think they were looking at the 2008-09 Civics but 2011 is the same body type.

Non-smoker? Any issues/stains with the interior cloth outside of regular wear over the years? Any pictures of how that minor damage looks like?
