I am in the middle of my diminished value claim with my truck. 2013 F150 fx2 super crew 54,000 miles

I got rear ended and pushed into the car in front of me with the total damage 6k for the front and rear of my truck. New tail gate, rear bumper, 5hrs on the frame machine, new front bumper, and the bed was tweaked some.

Ford dealer did nice job fixing it I will say. They were supposed to section the rear frame of the truck but they claimed they were able to repair it. Body shop said they fix rear frame damage all the time and mine was not that bad.

After it was fixed from the body shop it went to the alignment shop and the truck was still in spec so they must have known what they were doing. The truck drives great as well.

So on to my claim. Insurance wants to give me 1500 bucks I told the guy I wanted way more than that and I needed some time to do my homework.

I got a trade in price from carmax for 22k. I was open and honest about the wreck but there inspector guy said it looked good.

KKB shows trade in at 22,800k

Has anyone used those online places that write a DV report? I got a feeling I can hit up the insurance for a little more money but thats probably about it.

Between 5% & 10% of vehicle value is pretty standard. They are not out of line in their offer, could try to push it some but doubt you can get more than 10 % without some significant documentation.

I would take the offer.

I'm still fighting a DV claim on our '16 Lexus NX. We still had paper plates when someone pulled out in front of my wife. Final repair was just under $10k. Their current offer is $2500.

I have to do one of these as well. Guy plowed into the rear of my parked 2015 Silverado on Memorial Day and drove off. If I tried to turn around and sell when it gets out of the shop, even if it has been fully restored to perfection, I have a hard time thinking I could get within $5k of what it is actually worth. Maybe I'm being overly pessimistic.

If you are in the Fort Worth area talk to Denise at Stated Value Auto Appraisal.

Statedvalue.com

I used her about 8 years ago when someone rear ended our Yukon and got the insurance company to cough up about $4500 for DV. She will also point out things the shop did wrong with the repairs.
