Paging BigRob...

I'm going to replace a bad wheel bearing on our 2010 VW CC on Thanksgiving and was curious if there was anything to watch out for? I have a decent air impact gun to remove the axle bolt and will buy a replacement from the dealer later today. It looks like VW switched from a hex bolt to a 12 point one that takes a lower torque at some point? Any idea how tight the new one needs to be?

It looks like pretty straightforward but I know that's always our famous last words.

When I did my 06 Jetta I believe it was hand tight then another half turn. Check you tube, I found 5+ videos walking me through the whole process. Also going to have to take the cv axle loose/out. I ordered the triple square set from autozone online and got it in a day.

There's a good youtube video where someone in China did one on a CC like ours, and they showed how to swap the part without unbolting the CV joint. The trouble I ran into this evening is a stripped torx bolt holding the rotor on that I need to replace. I got to that step, saw the bad bolt and just put everything away for the evening. I started the job today in case I needed anything from the dealer tomorrow

I thought about asking WTF the captions said. If they gave torque values it would be great, but the guy just uses a bunch of welded up cheater bars.
