Anyone done it before. Called one place in Manvel and they said they might not take it unless it's cut up. Bed is solid minus the rust on wheel wells and spots in the bed just don't want it and have a new one. SW Houston.

Ususally the scrap yards will take it with some kind of written document stating you replaced it with a new part. May have to give fingerprints and take a picture but they will take it. Or just **** it up real bad with a sedge hammer then take it in

I tried to tell them I want to drive up with it bolted loosely and just dump it off the truck and then leave hah. I may throw it on clist and see if anyone wants it.

Right now scrap prices are incredibly low 5-6 cents/lb for steel. Put it on CL and let someone come pick it up ain't worth your time to get it there.

Just didn't figure anyone on CList would want it which is why. They said $3/100lb so maybe 20 bucks ha

There are lots of people in Houston who literally drive around town with trailers looking for scrap metal.

Always been a fan of truck bed benches mounted on the wall. If you have a hack saw and some time, could be a fun project Then scrap the rest of the metal.
