How do you switch a vehicle to a different name?

I'm starting to pay for my own car insurance now and I need to get my truck switched from my dad's name over to mine. How would we go about doing this?

Fill out the back of the title just like a sale, then fill out a form 130u and have your dad give it to you. Tax is $10.

Are you just wanting to have the title in your name?

My dad's name is still on the title for my '95, but I pay for insurance, registration, etc .

IIRC, you just need to go in with your son and full out a 130U. No tax. It's been 5 yrs since I did that with my son. The rib just did that with her kid. Said it cost $17 or so. No tax.

We had to get the form signed by a notary public when we did it a few years ago.

The form that needs to be notarized is the gift form from the comptrollers website. Just like they said, 130u as well. And a VTR form.
