How long do you want to ignore this user?
The low beam lamp on the passenger side keeps burning out, stock lamp lasted about 2 years, replacement 2 months, replacement after that I installed Friday night and today its out again. I'm careful and wear latex gloves when handling lamps so its not a grease issue. Any ideas?

Truck has 49k on but I do have an extended warranty.

I have an 04 Dodge Ram and the same thing was happening, plus the windshield wipers would randomly turn on by themselves. Turned out to be the power distribution unit. According to Google it was a bad Dodge design. I'm surprised that the issue may still exist in newer models. Oh, and to buy a new PDU is big bucks.

It should catch on fire soon.

TexAgs knows how to beat a joke to death.

Try another brand. I replaced my fogs after about 5 years, did both at once since I figured the other was not far long either, and they both went out a couple of days of each other about 6 months later.

Seems that replacements are just getting hit or miss.

First two were high dollar silver stars, then went for a cheapo.

Funny, I had a friend who loved silverstars and they continually burned out in his dakota. Sometimes 5 days, sometimes 2 months.

Try buying a regular sylvania?

Yeah, silverstars are not known for longevity unfortunately. I'd try a more reputable brand of normal bulb and then see what happens

Silverstars shoot more current through their stock filament to get better light output. Naturally, the filament burns out at a faster rate than standard halogens.

Order you an aftermarket HID kit in 5000k for about $50 and enjoy better output. Just remember to adjust your headlights down to compensate for the glare.

That one burnt out after 2 days, i'll look into the HID option, just tired of replacing them because they way Dodge designed the headlight removal is a PITA.

As far as HID goes I know nothing about them or what i would need, any good recs on brands, good places to buy, etc.

Re you sure it was burnt out or just not working? There is a grounding issue on some of the lights that has been miss diagnosed as TIPM issues. Check your wiring. I went through this with my 11. At one point the light would work and not work within days. Worked more in wet weather. Researched more online and found that many were having issues that were not being diagnosed correctly. Dealers were changing Headlight assemblies, TIPMs, bulbs, etc...

Most common fixes are new sockets, grounding finds.

Hope this helps.
