Mitsubishi montero starts to shutter at 38mph if the rpms are below 2000. I think it's a torque converter issue. Does anyone have a shop recommendation. I am at gessner and westheimer. (Inside the beltway west side of Houston)
Circle D is mostly for custom stuff, rebuilds or classic cars, racing specialties, but they will do a good job. Not cheap. I found a place up in Spring that works well for me. If you have a mechanic you like, ask them where they send their transmission work, because they seldom do it in house anymore.
Yeah I changed the fluids. Problem actually showed up a few months after I changed the fluid. I used the global ATF fluid from orielys. And it said it met the specs of the fluid required. I wonder if that was Bs
Having worked in the auto repair business for 30+ years, I can tell you the best trans shop in the Houston area is Carl's transmissions in baytown. Call Tom Hart and he will answer your questions. Circle D is good but very expensive. All of the shops I know, send their tranny work to Carls. He also has a great warranty which is nation wide.
