How long do you want to ignore this user?
Been almost two years without a ticket and sure enough I get two back to back.

First was in Sabinal, TX. 44 in a 30. This one was shady. I know the town well (drive through it all the time for hunting and know exactly where the speed changes from 30-45) and I am almost certain he jumped the gun and clocked me too soon.

Second was on I-10 ner Katy. 74 in a 60. Guilty as charged.

Should I fight both or just one?

Recommendations for lawyers in Houston and San Antonio / Uvalde area?

Contrary to what many think. You can do defensive driving for both. The reason I know this is because the guy I use for my defensive driving classes told me his son got two tickets and all he had to do for the 2nd ticket is ask for permission from the court house.

Since its in two different counties? Shouldn't be a issue at all.

The guy I go to for defensive driving is a "comedian" He literally gives you the answers to the test. If you even get one question wrong you're a total idiot. And for $30 it covers the class and a meal at the restaurant where he holds it at

Are you sure about that? Not doubting, I just know in the past one of the requirements for DD is you have not taken it in the past year (wouldn't one cancel out the other?).

If that is the case, problem solved.

I know for sure. He stated its been an ongoing rumor for years. Even said he saw the same person in his class like 2 months apart from each other.

You wont get two discounts for taking it, but you can wipe out both tickets this way.

Only if 2 tickets are in ONE county do you have to ask for permission

You can do it, the trick is that you need to get your record and send it to both at the same time so it is clean. DPS doesn't care if the get two notices of DD ticket dismissal, because judges have the discretion to do that. Just about any judge will give you deferred these days because they all hate the dps points system. Do that if you want to stay legal.

Also, most of the courts I have had tickets in recently don't even report my DD to DPS.

I would try for Deferred Adjudication, you pay a little more and sometime have to work a bit to get it, but it does NOT ever go on your driving record. It is basically a fine and probation. The DD is a scam to the point if they check your MVR they will find you have taken DD. Unless you are lucky and where ever you got it doe NOT report to the state. If they do it WILL show up on your record. In the case of 2 tickets I would try DD on one and DA on the other!!

I would defer one and do defensive driving for the other. I know the last time I tried DD I was denied because I would have taken the course twice within a year (tickets were more than a year apart but the time between taking DD and receiving the next ticket was less than a year).

The court clerk said it would be ok but when they gave me the paperwork to sign it clearly required me to certify that I had not taken the course within a year. I wasn't willing to take that chance so I chose deferred adj instead.

Take DD once, send info in for both tickets.

Then, you won't be taking DD twice in a year!

I just got a speeding ticket 20 minutes ago. 81 in a 60. Thankfully he was super nice and loved my car. Makes it a little easier to deal with

Looks like I'm doing defensive driving again
