Cruis Control not working....

2007 GMC Sierra. Cruise control on steering wheel, will light up when I hit the button To turn it on, but nothing will come on on the dash. I cannot actually set the cruise control. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking it's a fuse but I don't know where to look.

Mine does this in cold weather. Eventually I'll be able to tap the brakes and it will set. I suspect it has something to do with the brake pedal position sensor.

I recently had some work done to the front end brakes could that be the issue maybe?

The "power" light on the dash, the symbol showing the Cruise Control is on, wont come on though. Thus, when I hit the "set" button it obviously won't set because the truck doesn't think it's on.

Check your brake lights, including the CHMSL.

+1 for 1Ags. If that fails, could also be the brake light switch at top of brake pedal. I hear there's a calibration procedure for that switch as well.

CHMSL = center high mounted stop lamp

He's telling you to make sure it's working.

So here's a picture. As you can see on the left on the steering wheel the little orange light is the "power on" button. It comes on and yet on the dash panel there is no green light symbol showing the cruise is on.

As far as I know. I can hit the tow button and the light symbol comes on for it on the dash.
